The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is responsible for all the incredibly complicated logistics of bringing Team Canada to all Olympic Games, including travel, outfitting, IT, communications, media attaches, science and technology, security, health services, Olympic performance, science, and transportation. At the Games, there are separate COC Mission teams at each village who oversee the day-to-day operations to support the performance of the athletes. In addition to the administrative office, there is a lounge area, stretching/recovery room and comfort snacks!
This year, Team Canada will have 215 athletes competing in 14 sports. When combined with Mission staff and team support staff (coaches, technical staff, admin staff, therapists, and physicians), Team Canada is over 600 people! In addition to the COC leadership team being at the Games, the Chef de Mission for the B22WOGs is Catriona Le May Doan.
